The Manager, Intelligence Operations (Collection & Analysis) is responsible for leading end-to-end intelligence operations, with equal emphasis on collection management, analytic production, and operational execution.
This role ensures that intelligence is:
- Purpose-driven (guided by clear intelligence requirements)
- Efficiently collected (using the right sources, tools, and methods)
- Operationally relevant (aligned to client and platform use cases)
- Scalable and defensible (documented, repeatable, and auditable)
The Manager serves as the authority for intelligence delivery,
delivery strategy, collection planning, analyst workflows, and quality control,
bridging product, analysts, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Define intelligence requirements and direct targeted collection
- Manage analysts across collection, analysis, and production
- Ensure delivery of decision‑ready, defensible intelligence
- Optimize intelligence workflows and AI‑enabled pipelines
- Serve as escalation lead for high‑risk intelligence needs
Must Have
- Proven intelligence collection management experience
- Strong OSINT and source evaluation tradecraft
- Demonstrated people leadership in intel environments
- Ability to produce decision‑grade intelligence
- Experience operating in time‑sensitive, client‑driven contexts
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI‑assisted intelligence platforms
- Background in physical security or executive protection intelligence
- Prior government, military, or LE intel experience

Role Overview

The Manager serves as the authority for intelligence delivery, delivery strategy, collection planning, analyst workflows, and quality control, bridging product, analysts, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Intelligence Requirements & Collection Management
- Own the intelligence requirements process, translating client, operational, and platform needs into clear Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs), Essential Elements of Information (EEIs), and collection objectives
- Design and manage collection strategies across open, deep, and dark web sources, proprietary tools, and AI-enabled data pipelines
- Ensure collection activities are focused on relevance and impact, reducing noise and redundant data ingestion
- Allocate and prioritize collection resources based on operational urgency, risk level, and client SLAs
- Continuously assess collection effectiveness and adjust sources, methods, and automation as conditions change
Intelligence Production & Analytic Oversight
- Lead daily intelligence production across finished intelligence, SitReps, and software platform-driven outputs
- Ensure finished intelligence aligns with Alpha Recon’s standard of decision-ready, briefable, and documentable assessments
- Oversee analytic rigor, sourcing transparency, confidence statements, and structured analytic techniques
- Serve as senior reviewer for high-risk, high-visibility, or complex intelligence products
Analyst Leadership & Development
- Manage a team of intelligence analysts and senior analysts across collection and analysis functions
- Coach analysts on collection planning, source evaluation, OSINT tradecraft, and analytic writing
- Establish performance standards for both collection quality and analytic output
- Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of intelligence staff
Operational Workflow & Process Design
- Build
and maintain scalable SOPs covering the full intelligence cycle:
Requirements → Collection → Processing → Analysis → Dissemination → Feedback - Integrate collection management processes with software platform workflows and AI-assisted tools
- Partner with Product and Engineering to improve collection tasking, tagging, and feedback loops within the platform
Client, Product & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as the escalation point for urgent or sensitive intelligence requirements
- Work with Sales and Customer Success to scope intelligence needs and set realistic collection expectations
- Translate client questions into actionable collection and analytic tasks, ensuring intelligence answers the questions that matter
Quality, Governance & Risk Management
- Enforce standards for source validation, attribution, and ethical collection practices
- Ensure sensitive information is handled appropriately and intelligence products are defensible if reviewed post-incident
- Lead post-event reviews to refine intelligence requirements, collection plans, and analytic assumptions
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in intelligence operations, threat intelligence, or risk intelligence, including direct experience with collection management
- 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing analysts or intelligence workflows
- Demonstrated ability to develop intelligence requirements, collection plans, and tasking guidance
- Strong background in OSINT collection, source evaluation, and analytic tradecraft
- Experience managing intelligence in a client-driven, operational, or time-sensitive environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting physical security, executive protection, travel risk, or enterprise security risk management (eSRM)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted collection platforms, automation, or SaaS intelligence delivery models
- Experience managing hybrid human/AI intelligence pipelines
- Prior military, law enforcement, government, or private-sector intelligence background
- Experience supporting global operations, crisis response, or major events
