The DevOps Administrator supports the Technology and R&D Senior Management Team (SMT) by coordinating the software delivery lifecycle, improving release processes, ensuring operational readiness, and aligning engineering execution with business priorities. This role focuses on delivery governance, DevOps process optimization, and cross‑team coordination.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically fluent, and effective at facilitating alignment between engineering, product, and intel teams.

Must Have
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Management, or SDLC Governance roles
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery processes
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools
Nice to have
- Experience in SaaS, defense tech, cybersecurity, or R&D environments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, cloud platforms, or containerization
- Strong analytical skills with experience producing delivery and operational reports.

Key Responsibilities
1. SDLC Governance
- Ensure consistent adherence to Alpha Recon’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) standards.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure proper implementation of:
- branching strategies
- CI/CD pipelines
- testing requirements
- release procedures
- Maintain documentation, guidelines, and standards related to development workflows and engineering operations.
2. Release Coordination
- Manage release schedules, versioning, and deployment readiness across multiple environments.
- Validate that all releases meet required criteria, including:
- completed testing and validation
- updated documentation
- defined rollback plans
- appropriate change approvals
- Coordinate release communications and facilitate cross-team readiness.
3. DevOps Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to optimize build, deployment, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering to streamline CI/CD pipeline efficiency and environment management.
- Contribute to defining DevOps best practices, operational playbooks, and runbooks.
- Support infrastructure consistency by documenting and improving standards.
4. Quality & Testing Alignment
- Partner with QA and engineering to ensure appropriate test coverage and validation gates exist prior to releases.
- Monitor testing progress and ensure quality standards are met ahead of deployments.
- Help enforce automated quality checks within CI/CD pipelines.
5. Cross‑Team Coordination
- Serve as a bridge between engineering, product, and intel teams to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and priorities.
- Help translate business priorities into engineering execution milestones.
- Facilitate communication and resolution of delivery blockers.
6. Delivery Tracking & Reporting
- Track engineering delivery milestones and release progress across teams.
- Provide clear, timely status updates, risk summaries, and delivery reporting to leadership.
- Maintain Jira dashboards and reporting metrics, including:
- release cadence
- defect and quality trends
- deployment frequency
- operational or production incidents
- Surface risks early and recommend mitigation actions.
7. Incident & Post‑Release Oversight
- Coordinate post-release reviews, incident retrospectives, and root‑cause analyses.
- Ensure lessons learned are documented, communicated, and translated into process improvements.
- Collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Management, or SDLC Governance roles.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- Strong understanding of version control and branching strategies (Git).
- Experience coordinating software releases in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery processes.
- Solid understanding of testing practices and quality gates.
Preferred
